Abstract:
The paper provides an analysis of the concepts of “competence”, “competency”, “digital competence”, and their distinction. The approaches of domestic and foreign researchers to the definition of a number of these terms are compared. The main approaches to the classification of competencies in relation to the activities of employees of internal affairs bodies are reviewed. The author's point of view on the interpretation of the term “digital competence” is proposed. The characteristics of the requirements for the formation of lawyers' competencies reflected in the third-generation federal state educational standards of higher education (FSES) for specialist, bachelor's and master's programs are given. Proposals are formulated for making additions to academic disciplines taking into account the need to develop digital competence in lawyers. The importance of increasing the level of digital competence of employees of internal affairs bodies in the context of professional education, including in the system of continuous education is noted.
