The article discusses the issues of formation of socially significant prospects of female juvenile convicts. The subject of the study was the use of the system of socially significant prospects as a means of correction of female juvenile offenders in educational colonies. The object of our research is female juvenile convicts serving sentence in educational colonies. The purpose of the study was to identify the features of the organization of pedagogical activities of colony staff in educational colonies to form a system of socially significant prospects among female juvenile offenders, practical implementation as a means of education and building the process of correction of female offenders on this basis. The research methods included observation, conversation, generalization of independent characteristics, questionnaires, interviews. The study examined the existing vital prospects and goals of the convicts. The scientific novelty lies in the fact that the study provided a scientific basis for the rehabilitation of juvenile female convicts through the development of socially significant prospects. The content of the system of prospects was theoretically developed and justified in relation to the conditions of educational colonies, and a stable classification of female juvenile offenders into groups and subgroups based on the content of their existing vital prospects was developed.
