The article discusses the main age characteristics of juvenile delinquents, which impede normal communication in the course of offcial activities of employees of departments working both for the purpose of preventing and disclosing offenses committed by adolescents. The general rules of behavior of employees when establishing psychological contact with a minor are disclosed. The need for the participation of a specialist in some cases for the purpose of effective interaction is noted. The most common behavioral reactions of a teenager – delinquent are listed. Tactical techniques that destroy communication barriers in a teenager’s conversation with an employee are considered.
