The article discusses the theoretical and methodological issues of sociological support for managerial activities in the territorial internal affairs bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, which allows not only to obtain the necessary analytical information and establish an effective feedback system, but also to contribute to the improvement of operational and service activities of the entire system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. Special attention is paid to the need to develop a flexible, socially oriented system for measuring the effectiveness of police activities at the regional level, which includes a number of important indicators of the work of police officers in the field. From the author’s perspective, the participation of police officers in solving important social and legal issues of the population, prompt and mobile provision of personal and public security, and timely assistance to citizens in difficult situations are considered as important criteria for measuring police activities.
