Abstract (English):
The article examines the features of teaching adjuncts of educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia the art of argumentative expression in scientific discourse in English. The main objective of the study is to develop a didactic template for the formation and improvement of argumentative expression skills in the scientific field. The concept of a text-centric approach, in which a text acts as a model for the formation of communication skills, is consistently presented. Through the prism of this approach, the importance of developing the skills in analyzing and modeling structural and communicative aspects of scientific texts is shown. The types of arguments (based on reality, methodology, theory, and authority) and counterarguments (by identifying contradictory facts, by pointing out the limitations of the study, through refuting the interpretation of the results and due to putting forward a competing hypothesis) regularly used in legal research are considered. Samples of a sequential series of tasks have been developed and proposed, teaching first the analysis of fragments of scientific texts, identification of types of arguments and counterarguments, and then the sequential synthesis of argumentation and counterargumentation using an optimal communicative framework to substantiate the author's scientific position. The didactic template proposed in the article has been developed to improve the quality of training of graduate students for scientific activity and improve their research competence.
