The article is devoted to the tactical aspects of using non-verbal communication tools during an interrogation between a person conducting criminal proceedings and a suspect (accused) in order to establish psychological contact with the interrogated person, increase the information component of the testimony and an adequate understanding of the verbal information transmitted by the latter. The article considers the following means of non-verbal communication: a body contact, a distance between communicating people, their spatial orientation to each other, appearance, a position or pose, gestures, gaze, etc. It has been established that non-verbal communication methods play an important role in the psychological impact on a suspect or accused person and can significantly increase the persuasiveness of arguments presented by the subject of the investigation; the use of non-verbal communication methods significantly enhances the effectiveness of the work of the subject of the investigation, and opens up new horizons for achieving the required results.
