It is impossible to imagine today’s world in the era of the digital economy without the media, without the Internet, which have a significant impact on the surrounding reality. Information, being an integral part of modern reality, is not only a source of positive knowledge, but also in some cases a threat to the business reputation of both individuals and legal entities as a whole. The harmful use of information involves the development and application of protection mechanisms, which will be discussed in this article. The authors attempted to analyze the impact of fakes on the activities of internal affairs bodies and consider mechanisms to counter the negative impact of unreliable information.
