The article reveals the relevance of the problem of interaction between police officers and the population to combat extremism and terrorism. It clarifies the content of extremist and terrorist activities in modern conditions. The characteristics of the population as an object of interaction are considered. The role of district police officers in the prevention of offenses is determined. The main areas of interaction with various actors to combat extremism and terrorism are identified. An algorithmic prescription for decision-making in organizing interaction to combat extremist and terrorist activities is developed. The features of interaction between police officers and various categories of the population are revealed.
