OBKHSS RKM NKVD OF THE USSR AND THE FIGHT AGAINST SWINDLERS AND FRAUDSTERS DURING THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR

Abstract (English):
The article covers the issues of the struggle of the militia against swindlers and fraudsters during the Great Patriotic War. At that time, new types of economic crimes appeared. The results of the struggle against plunderers of socialist property depended on the size and nature of crime in wartime conditions. Tough legislation was in force, which made it possible to wage an irreconcilable struggle against economic crimes on the territory of a huge country. The most important area of activity of the internal affairs bodies was the protection of socialist property. The BKhSS departments of the workers’ and peasants’ militia in the center and in the regions led the fight against speculation and repurchase of goods, disorganization of trade, abuses in the food industry, theft of bread, money from state funds and cooperative organizations, and also counteracted swindlers and fraudsters.
