NEW IN THE PROCEDURE OF DECLARATION OF A PERSON IN THE INTERNATIONAL WANTED
Abstract and keywords
Abstract (English):
In connection with the start by Russia, in accordance with the Decision of the President of the Russian Federation of February 24, 2022, a special military operation to demilitarize and denazify Ukraine, some unfriendly states took an active initiative to exclude Russia from the ranks of Interpol. In parallel, law enforcement leaders from around the world have also requested continued cooperation with Russia through Interpol, highlighting the serious security concerns in the event of a halt in information sharing. On March 10, 2022, Interpol adopted a special Statement of the Interpol General Secretariat for Ukraine, which established that Russia would not be excluded from the organization, but the procedure for considering its requests would change. The NCB of Interpol of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia will no longer be able to directly request the participating countries - its requests will be sent to the General Secretariat to check their compliance with the rules of the organization. The article reveals the essence of the procedure for declaring a person on the international wanted list, which has changed for the Russian Federation, its difference from the previously established procedure.
