THE U.S. CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS AT 1ST THIRD OF THE XX CENTURY (1900–1933)

Abstract (English):
The article discusses amendments to the U.S. Constitution in the period from the adoption of the Bill of Rights of 1791 to the first third of the XX century. Certain cycles in the constitutional innovations of the USA are analyzed. Emphasis is placed on attempts to adopt new amendments in the early 1920s and proposals to ban any new amendments in the future. The amendments to the Constitution of the period of the “New Deal” by F. D. Roosevelt are highlighted.
