In the article, the author analyzes the changes in the legislation regulating the sphere of criminal law counteraction to theft of electronic money. It explores the relationship between legislative and law enforcement activities and reveals contradictions in the application of new special norms of the criminal law that determine the responsibility for cyber theft. The authors draw conclusions based on judicial practice about the prematureness of some legislative initiatives.
