The requirement of knowledge of the basics of Russian sign language by the police of the Russian Federation necessitated the search for effective methods of teaching them within the framework of the relevant academic discipline. In the process of teaching sign language to hearing citizens, it is worth considering not only the educational material, methodological methods of working with it and observance of the learning stages, but also the learning achievement aspect. This article is devoted to the issue of the expediency of correcting language and speech errors in the process of teaching police officers the basics of Russian sign language and organizing error correction at different stages of training.
