The article focuses on the problem of the lack of a fully developed methodology for investigating illegal drug production carried out by organized criminal groups (communities), including the organizer, operator, supplier, “chemist” and “cook”. The functions of the latter (a cook) in the production of narcotic drugs in design laboratories, kitchen laboratories and laboratories for the production of designer drugs are revealed. All the evidence necessary to establish his involvement in drug production is substantiated. The article examines the specifics and role of individual operational-investigative measures, investigative actions, significance of forensic examinations to achieve the tactical task “proof of guilt” in relation to the cook.
