Abstract (English):
The article highlights the issue of the development of Russian statehood in the Bashkir Territory during the imperial period from a positive legal perspective. The author notes that the Bashkir region’s incorporation into the Muscovite state does not mean that statehood was firmly and immediately established there. Social relations in the region developed inconsistently. It took a long time to integrate this vast region populated by various ethnic groups into a single state – the Russian one. Besides being lengthy this process was also complex. The article outlines the main approaches by which the imperial authorities integrated the Bashkir region into the Russian state system most actively and successfully. It is noted that from the point of view of the legal component of the establishment of Russian statehood in the Bashkir region, a prominent place is occupied by the Personal Decree of Alexander II of May 14, 1863, given to the government Senate – the Supremely approved “Regulations on the Bashkirs” and “Rules on the special Bashkir governance”.
